several times in the past few years I have been contacted by academic's assistants who failed to follow through
- only later did I hear that my responses to these inquiries had not been passed on. Call my

To arrange for a lecture by me, or my participation in a symposium, please contact
me well in advance.
If you wish to photocopy short portions of my book for use in a course,
permission is granted for copying that meets the following criteria:
Fewer than thirty pages are copied.
Fewer than 100 copies are made.
The copies are used for educational purposes.
The copies include the title page and verso (the copyright and other front
matter).
You encourage your students to read the entire book.
Finally, you notify me of your name, the name of the course, the institution, and the portion you
are photocopying. Thanks very much!
